O2 Confirms Palm Devices for the UK

O2 will be making plenty of enterprise users as well as phone keyboard fans happy with the announcement that the Palm Pixi Plus and the Palm Pre Plus handsets will be coming to the UK sometime late this April or early May. The good news comes just a day after it was confirmed that Vodafone Germany and O2 Germany have managed to acquire the devices to be launched in April 28.

The Palm Pixi Plus and the Pre Plus are actually second editions of the older Pixi and Pre smart phones. While most of the old specs and the looks of the phones are the same, the new Plus editions comes with additional video recording capability and the much needed support for WiFi access (which was one of the biggest drawbacks of the older models).

These two phones are pretty small, and will give even the upcoming X10 Mini phones a good competition in terms of size. Both are also equipped with QWERTY keyboard which means that users who love to text, email and post long messages will appreciate the added convenience. Thanks to the well designed QWERTY keyboards, typing even on the small phones is actually pretty convenient.

In other Palm news, the future seems pretty bleak for the once innovative manufacturer as reports that the company is taking in heavy losses have been spreading in the past few days. It is known that Palm might be going up on sale and that HTC and Lenovo are suspected to be among the top buyers aiming to get the company and its’ much coveted patent library.

Should Palm be sold, it is possible that further support and development of the WebOS mobile platform may cease. Visit Moby1 to find the best O2 contracts and Palm deals available online
